Goblin Town Rules

1 - Coins

Every person, whether they are player, crew, or entertainer gets a bag of goblin coins, those coins are to pay for workshops, tip fun goblin interactions etc.

However, they are also the way in which we decide who is to be crowned MAYOR OF GOBLIN TOWN!

This makes them somewhat valuable to those playing the game, as such, people may trade them, buy things with them, or just give them away.

But, there is also of course: stealing them. And that is where we must be VERY careful.

If you have had a great combat and want to throw a coin to your adversary: great. But don't use combat as an excuse to go through peoples personal pockets.

In addition, when keeping your coins you may be tempted to hide them: fine, but please do not hide them in an OOC area.

People should not be snooping in folks tents unless they are clearly marked as In Character (In other words, you should not be anywhere around peoples, glasses, wallet, phone, spare clothes etc.

So please do not hide your coins with your Out of character belongings.

Please ask questions!

2 - Playing the Game

Now, sometimes in the hurly burly of the LARP hobby you hear people refer to "good game". So in this instance, what is "Good Game"?

This is a freeform system, meaning there is no rules, which leads to participants having to work out things for themselves: am I hit for example? What is the effects of being hurt? etc etc.

And those things are up to you.

Now, that being the case, there is one very important thing to consider: How do my actions make the game better for the other person?

If you are hurt, you can make peoples game better by acting like it, you can draw in healers. Etc.

If you are gambling you can throw games.

You can invite people to go do things with you, such as visit the dragon or take part in a workshop.

Basically "good game" is any action that creates drama or fun etc for another participant and that adds to the event.

3 - Combat

Fighting is one of the parts of the event you can take part in.

In LARP this is represented by specially constructed foam covered props.

People are struck lightly with the prop to repressent combat.

If that happens then the person struck is injured, they may run away screaming, they may need medical help.

But there should certainly be an outcome that moves the game and creates drama.

If you wear armour then you might take a nock or two more.

But should have other issues.

The most important thing is reaction to big hits and making sure the combat makes drama and fun for all.
