Marginalia

The World!

The year is 1450, and the local lord Marshal of the Castle Perevue FitzPercy is heading home for a relax and some boar hunting as the weather closes in. However, in this world, marginalia are real. The things people drew in the margins of books are abroad, and can cause issues. It is the local abbot and Castelans job to keep it under control... and... well.... it isn't. The church folk need to make sure that all the embarrassing issues are out of sight and the the Castlean needs to make sure that all the rabbit people and giant snails are dealt with... or vice versa

The Plot!

The local lord is coming and the local church/knights/etc. Have failed to keep all the marginalia in order!

The penus trees must be harvested and the "fruit" hidden, the giant snails need dealing with, the rabbit people need running off before they jump the lord and that wierd naked guy in the little boat on the moat needs to be moved on.

All before the Lord arrives.

Making a Character

Making a character is a part of the proccess for taking part of a player and being involved in the game.

In a freeform like this the important parts are who the characters are and what their relationship with the castle is.

The Castle is a hodge podge of different groups:

These groups are all going to have their own wants and wishes, knights looking to gain a name for themselves by defeating a Giant Snail, Priests looking to cover up any naughty imps running around, the nuns trying to hide any unfortunate looking fruit in such a way as to implicate the monks and vice versa. etc.

One easy starting point is to look at a archetype:

These are example, but a strong archetype can help decide the basics of the character that you can then hang the details from.

Once you have these details and ideas you can decide on costume, an outline of character such as a couple of positive points: smart, an excellent fight etc. also a couple of negatives, such as, nervousness, greedy or something similar.
